Day Trip From Marrakech to Imlil Perhaps the most beautiful and captivating part of Morocco in the High Atlas, the largest mountain range in North Africa. In rural areas, the way of life has remained almost unchanged for centuries and contained villages in which this was the case until recent decades.

Excursion from Marrakech to Imlil Valley, the gateway of the Toubkal National Park, and visit Berber villages in the high Atlas Mountains for full day trip. Throughout the day, you will be able to discover the mountainous and rural valley of Imlil at the foot of the Toubkal summit, with its varied nature and colorful terraces. It is legendary how well the Berbers in the mountains keep up with the harsh winter climate, as their hospitality is legendary.

  • Visit a colorful rural market
  • Tuesday-Saturday, visit the Tahanoute souk
  • Wherever you want, you can take your lunch.

Day Trip From Marrakech to Imli  Details:

Marrakech day tour picks you up at 09:00 from your hotel. In the next five hours, you can make your way south up the Moulay Brahim Gorges in the Atlas Mountains. The Asni Saturday market, followed by Imlil (1740m) on the Western High Atlas mountain range, is an important trailhead, with paths and streams going in all directions. We will meet your local guide here to have a welcome glass of mint tea in the village, before setting off on a 4km excursion in the direction of the Berber village of Aremd towards the south. traversing the rugged slopes of the Western High Atlas, the jagged peaks of the Toubkal Massif.

We will stop at Aremd to visit this rather odd village in the Valley, built seemingly house upon house on a small moraine spur. overlooking ancient terraced barley, corn, and vegetable fields that are always surrounded by almond and walnut trees. Our lunch will be served in a barber family in the village before we drive down the other side of the valley back to Imlil and our return to Marrakech.

This tour operates daily throughout the year. Tour timings are approx. and are subject to change based on the groups interests, weather or seasons.
