Experience Berber Village Life
Experience Berber Village Get a glimpse into Berber life by exploring traditional villages in the Atlas Mountains, and meet the hospitable Berbers.
Get a real taste of Berber village life far removed from the commercialization seen in other High Atlas valleys such as Ourika and Imlil. Enjoy an authentic Atlas Mountain experience in a truly spectacular setting. At the Azzaden Valley we follow a trail through the orchards to Ouirgane village past plentiful fruit trees such as plums, apple, plums, apricots, quinces, lemons, and figs.
In the village, we walk along the river, then visit a local mill for a demonstration of Berber bread making. We’ll also learn about village life. Lunch is served at a stunning nature retreat built on the slopes of the Azzaden Valley near the bend of the river. If you prefer, you can take a short walk to Torort village before returning to Marrakech.
During market days, Tahanoute, Ouirgane, and Asni, there will be a stop to visit the local market.
